3D Glasses: Boon or Bane

With the advent of 3D TV, the whole viewing concept has taken a different direction. All thanks to the polarized 3D glasses, that has revolutionized the viewing experience. It is 3D glasses that make the 3D illusion since, it confines the light which reaches human eye. You would have been hearing about 3D for ages but the content has picked up recently.

It would not be an overestimation to say that 3D technologies are impeccable as, Avatar is an apt example to judge. However, there are some drawbacks of 3D glasses that a watcher must have noticed it, such as dimness of the image and difficulty in viewing with a tilted head causing color change and ghosting as well. 3D watchers also suffer from headaches, eye pain and nausea.

Fortunately, there is an array of 3D glasses available today, depending on the technology. The first one is Shutter Glass technology used by Samsung 3D TV. This technology’s 3D glasses are troublesome to watch for long duration since, it requires batteries to operate, making the glasses heavy. Another technology is FPR (Film Patterned Retarder), which has wide-angle view ability (even in a laid-back position). Moreover, as FPR do not need batteries hence, its 3D glasses are lightweight, making the viewing experience comfortable than ever.

To conclude, it is significant to understand the pros and cons of each advanced technology present, before you think to buy 3D TV and glasses.you think to buy 3D TV and glasses.

Electronics market is booming with an array of 3D products. Recently, Vienna University of Technology has developed the smallest printer, which is not only small and light but even cheap, as compared to other 3D printers. It will not only help to enhance the 3D content but is helpful for printing out customized 3D objects at home. Now with great 3D softwares and printers, the user will be able to provide in depth view of the object such as building.

Undoubtedly, 3D content is extending its realm everywhere and with the 3D TV market, picking up it is likely that it is here to stay. A plethora of 3D TV is showcased for the prospective customers to choose from according to size, price and features. There has been an ongoing problem with the viewers, as their eyes pain, feels nausea and headaches after watching 3D content. But, with the fantastic technology employed in 3D TV all the aforementioned problems are resolved. The technology is referred as ‘Film Patterned Retarder’ (FPR) which runs battery less, offers ultimate brightness and has wide viewing flexibility as well. Moreover, converting of 2D to 3D, streaming of online content, storing movies & photos and many more other features are available on 3D TV. It is not only fashion industry where 3D has taken a revolution rather it is widening in every sector esp. the electronics market. Various leading television brands such as Samsung, Panasonic, and LG have unveiled 3D TVs to give world, a 3D experience at home. As it is a tough job to choose an apt TV for yourself hence, it is always recommended to go for the best technology, which has an assurance to give you the best output.

Thus, there are two types of technology available for 3D TV – Shutter Glass (SG) and FPR technology. SG technology is used by many eminent television brands such as Samsung & Panasonic. This technology removes the problem of ghosting and runs with the help of batteries.

It is fixed in 3D glasses that make the frame heavy and viewing for long hours, difficult. Another one is FPR technology, which has battery free glasses that weighs just half, if compared to the conventional SG technology glasses. Moreover, since, the battery is not attached to the 3D glasses therefore, no harmful radiations can affect your health. This technology is only used by LG 3D TV and is the first one to be a certified flicker free 3D TV in the world.
